Kiama is a coastal town south of Sydney, in New South Wales, Australia. It’s known for the Kiama Blowhole and Little Blowhole, 2 cliffside caverns where seawater shoots into the air. Heading north, the Kiama Coast Walk trail links the blowholes to the columns of Cathedral Rocks, with whale-watching spots along the way. Surf Beach has calm water for swimming. Pilot’s Cottage Museum traces the town’s maritime history.
A beautiful seaside destination, Kiama is famous for its blowhole - a natural rock formation that spouts seawater 20 meters or more into the air. There are many more intriguing and spectacular things to do and see in Kiama, from the gorgeous beaches to the exhilarating Kiama Coast Walk.
On the NSW South Coast, getting to Kiama is easy. The drive from Sydney is about 90 minutes. Or take the marvelous Grand Pacific Drive touring route through the Royal National Park and over the Sea Cliff Bridge and past Wollongong. A scenic train trip is another enjoyable way to travel to Kiama.
The food and wine experiences are delicious too, with the Kiama region growing bountiful produce available at the Kiama Farmers Market on Wednesdays.
