How to Keep Your Rental Property Stylish and Tidy

with No Comments

If you think your rental property could use some upgrading, consider remodelling it in order to make it look a bit more stylish and modern. Also, even the simplest changes, like decluttering, can do wonders for the appearance of your rental space. With that in mind, here are a couple of suggestions that can help your rental property stand out from the rest.

Keep it up to date

When people enter your rental property, they don’t want to feel like they went back in time. They want to have the same things they do at home; there should be Internet access, your furniture should be clean and comfortable, there should be plenty of light, and all the technology should be working properly. Now, this doesn’t mean you need to spend a fortune on furnishing the property; just make sure that everything looks clean and fairly new.

Consider the design

Minimalism with neutral colours usually works best because it can appeal to most people, but that doesn’t mean your rental property should look boring. You can break the monotony of the neutral colours by introducing a single statement piece that adds character to the space through its colours or contrasting design. For instance, it can be a quirky coffee table, a bold red armchair, or neon pink kitchen appliances. You can also spice up the appearance of your property by adding a pop of colour with decorative elements such as flowers, candles, pillows, artwork, etc. In other words, use minimalism as the base, but don’t be afraid of spicing it up with accessories.

Clean the air

Nobody wants to spend time in a stuffy house, so make sure the air in your rental property is fresh by opening the windows when the weather is nice and having a good ventilation system. You should have plenty of plants too, and perhaps a few scented candles for creating a more romantic or calming atmosphere. Finally, you should also provide your renters with the best air purifier for allergies just in case some of them have any respiratory issues.

Declutter

Cleanliness is one of the most important aspects of any home, whether it is rental or not. So, make sure they are enough trash bins around your property. Also, everything should have its place – the kitchen appliances, glasses, bathroom supplies, shoes and coats, and even the TV remote. Nothing should be in the open unless being used at the moment. Finally, if anything is broken or simply too old, get rid of it – you want your rental property to be an example of elegance and class, and keeping around things that no longer serve their purpose is definitely not stylish.

Add a touch of personality

Adding a couple of personal touches doesn’t take much, yet, it can do wonders for the overall feel of your rental property. It’s all about making your guests feel like they are at home, so hang some artwork on the walls, add a couple of extra pillows and soft rugs, introduce some greenery, and provide them with a couple of books, cards, or board games. This way, your rental property will seem much more homelike and welcoming.

Make sure your kitchen is well-equipped

Although renters do often eat out, there are still those who like to prepare their own meals. With that in mind, you should ensure that your kitchen is not just stylish, but also practical. It should have a microwave oven, toaster, tea kettle, vegetable peeler, plenty of pots, pans, plates, and bowls, and all the other necessary kitchenware. This way, you can rest assured that your renters will be more than satisfied with both the appearance and the functionality of the kitchen.

When it comes to your rental property, you should treat it as if you were the one living in it. This means that it should be clean, well-designed, comfortable, and modern. Therefore, consider some of the above-mentioned suggestions, and have no doubt that your rental property will look better than ever before.
